I've done it.
I HATE doing dishes and made the mistake of living in a place with no dishwasher. I accrued a nasty pile that festered into a slimy mess. It was easy to ignore because I never cooked and the fridge was in the dining room, so I rarely even went into the kitchen. But once it started to smell, I was like "fuck it, I got these for free anyway" and threw them all away.
The next time it happened, I paid someone to wash them because I was low on dishes. ![](images/beatup.gif) 5/30/2014 1:30:52 PM

I don't allow anything in the sink. The ONLY scenario that things can be in the sink is if the dish washer is currently running or if you're cooking and haven't cleaned up yet (although I typically like to clean while I cook so by the time I'm eating everything is already clean). The sink is for washing not storage.
I actually prefer hand washing sometimes. It's something to do while you're waiting for something finish cooking. 5/30/2014 1:38:25 PM

I eat a lot of whole foods without dishes. And, wherever possible, I clean cookware immediately while it's still hot with just water and wiping. I don't mind dishes, but efficiency makes me happy.

I only use one plate ever, and I never use more than two bowls at once. So I just wash my dishware right after I'm done using it, and then use it again the next time. It's a really wonderful way to never have to wash a shitload of dishes. On the other hand, when I say "wash," I just mean run lukewarm water over the dish for like 10s. So if you want to use soap or something, this strategy isn't so easy to practice.] 5/31/2014 11:05:57 PM
