I honestly don't know. I don't disbelieve in ghosts

it seems possible that ghosts are only able/willing to reveal themselves to people in certain special creepy situations, during which there's no possibility of their being documented or their existence conclusively established for the world at large

maybe that sounds like a stretch, but it's consistent with the facts, at least.

I understand how contradictory that sounds, but I don't pretend to understand everything that happens in the world.

When I hear strange ghosty noises around the house, I just assume there's a serial killer moving around. Check under all the beds and the closets. Nothing. But did I check hard enough? Like, did I check hard enough to catch a really tiny serial killer? Maybe the little person with the machete scampered really quick from the closet to the bed after I'd already checked the bed... Better check again.

When I still don't find anything, I assume it's an animal or a bum living in my walls. I might shout out to the bum something about how he needs to keep it down. If I feel legitimately threatened, I'll crouch in the closet with a steak knife until the dumbassery passes.

So, nope, don't believe in ghosts.

My bad. I forgot...my car stereo once malfunctioned and started blasting the radio on max. I could not get it to turn down or off. So I veered into a bank parking lot and sprinted away from the vehicle...because, for a moment, I was pretty certain the stereo was possessed by a ghost/demon.

I have been to lots of places where people have "seen ghosts",

some places are creepy as fuck, but I have never seen anything I couldn't explain

ghosts are real. lived in a haunted house for like a decade. it wasn't a mean ghost. he just liked to close doors randomly.

We moved into this old house in Georgia when I was a kid (probably about 14 years old or so), and out back there was this shed. There wasn't much in that shed but some old garden tools, a wooden work bench, some boards, and some spiderwebs. Anyway, one evening I was just poking around when I was bored one day, pushed the door open, and I went into the shed...my dog followed me in.
Soon after I we walked in, the door SLAMMED shut behind me. It got markedly colder in there, and it was pitch black. I found the door knob and was pulling as hard as I fucking could... The door would not even begin to budge. Like, not even a little bit. It was like it was cemented in place. I could hear this low, rumbling noise for about 30 seconds as I was trying to get the damn door open. I was pulling so hard on the door that I eventually lost my grip and stumbled backwards. When I finally regained my balance, the door just opened slowly like nothing had ever happened, and the noise just stopped.

Sunlight came in, and I quickly stood in the doorway for fear that it might shut again. I looked back inside for my dog, and eventually spotted him cowering in the corner next to those old dusty boards, with a look of absolute fear on his face like he saw something in the darkness while the door was shut. I called his name, a couple of times, and then he suddenly sprang up and bolted out of the shed.

I never could get him to go anywhere close to that damn shed again. And anytime I ever went in there, I propped the door open with something....

I've always wondered how Christians can believe in God and all that he does and not at the same time believe in ghosts.

FALSE! UFOs are entirely real in a technical sense. Any object that is flying and unidentified is a UFO. It doesn't necessarily mean it is aliens. It could be some kind of new prototype military technology or something.

On the topic of aliens, totally plausible given how large the universe is and how many stars and planets we know exist. Now the idea that these aliens are intelligent and visiting us -- well that is something that is entirely up for debate.

So now back to the topic of ghosts. Although I don't necessarily believe that people are coming back after they die in a ghostly form, I do believe that there is a lot about the universe that we don't understand. I think it is entirely reasonable that what people see as ghosts are some manifestation from another dimension or something like that. There is absolutely a scientific explanation behind it.

when I was a kid I thought for sure I had an experience but as an adult I think I just think it had to do with being woken up during REM sleep or something. I've also been known to sleepwalk.

So, no to ghosts although I do believe in God and believe we have souls.

Extraterrestrial life, definitely.

Bigfoot would have been spotted by now.

I've met surprisingly many people who believe in ghosts (or at least it's surprisingly high to me). I always ask these people where ghosts get their clothes but I've yet to be given an answer (neither joke nor a real guess). Do you wear what you died in forever? Is there a ghost old navy to get new clothes? Why are there never any naked ghosts? Or are the naked ghosts the ones who hang bedsheets on themselves?

My sister and I saw ufos once. Back in the late 80s. They looked like two lights one red and one green just suspended in the air. They glowed similar to a laser pointer. They just hung in the air next to each other for a long time while we stared. Then we blinked and one was gone. The red one darted away not much longer after that. This was out in Trenton, NC in the middle of a cow pasture.

My sister often talked to me about a ghost she would see in my stepmother's house. A man with bushy black hair and and a thick mustache, wearing a blue members only jacket. One night we fell asleep in her bed watching SNL(NBC). When we woke up her desk chair had been pulled out and the channel had been changed to ABC. My sister finally told our dad and step mom what she had been seeing. Stepmom asked her to describe the man and she got all a weird and then left the table. She came back with a picture of her brother. That was the man my sister had been seeing. We lived in his house. He had passed away of aids several years earlier and we had never met him. He had a dental practice across the road that had been turned in to a daycare. Apparently the police had been called to it many times when they went to open up because when they looked in the window someone saw a man inside fitting the same description. Police never found anyone and never found a point of entry or exit.

I just don't believe in ghosts like some manifested apparition or thing that can physically affect you. I guess I think of a soul more like energy that changes form/dimensions when you die and God being whatever it is that holds it all together and keeps the laws of science constant rather than chaotic.
