I'd be quite interested if I didn't live in South Carolina and if it wasn't currently 100 degrees.
Good luck! 7/14/2014 8:57:26 PM |

A cancer survivor is getting the big ones to make bowls out of. He sells them to raise money for american cancer society.
The normal sized logs (easier to move and split) are still up for grabs. 7/16/2014 11:12:29 AM |

^I assume he means getting people to haul off downed trees from your yard; but seeing as how this has already been cut, I'm not sure it's much of a trick... I mean, even if it weren't cut, it's not much of a trick. People pay good money for trees/lumber... getting it for free is great. 7/17/2014 9:55:46 AM |

Yeah, I see that a lot locally. People post trees they've cut down and advertise it as "free firewood". I see yours isn't pine. Pine is usually the first thing that tells me they are just trying to get someone to haul it off. 7/17/2014 10:14:38 PM |

Im thinkin about getting some of that free stuff to take camping with me next time... So much free fire wood here in the city. Lots of expensive firewood out in the mountains 7/17/2014 10:16:56 PM |

It's mutually beneficial. No "trick" involved. One person gets rid of something they don't want and one person gets something they can use for free. Pine is great for backyard fire pits. A little difficult to start if it's green, but the oils burn really well once you get it hot enough to keep the fire going. Just because it's not what you want for the fireplace in your home doesn't mean it doesn't have any value to someone else.

Its all gone now.
I had to pay to get the branches hauled off (not pictured), tried to get the city to take it but I guess there was so much they thought it was commercial. 7/19/2014 5:57:53 PM |
