I can't believe I remembered this password.
and I definitely would've never seen this if drunknloaded hadn't messaged me on FB.
I shall oblige, however.
1 - Do you think your pizza is as good as, or even better than [Raleigh] Ruckus'? It's different (you knew that was coming). While I'll certainly not give out any recipe secrets of Ruckus', I'll only say that my restaurant does NY style pizza, has a similar dough recipe--sorta, but that their sauce has a spicier profile while mine is quite a bit sweeter.
2 - Do you consider Ruckus' pizza to be authentic NY Style pizza? (I know you think it is...but I'm all ehhh even though it's good.) I definitely do. 3 - Whats been the hardest challenge and the greatest pleasure of opening/running your own place? There are countless challenges. I still encounter them. The absolute hardest is the financial risk you take. I didn't/don't have a trust fun, or anything. I literally got 2 small-ish loans, and maxed out every credit card I've ever had since I was 17. My ludicrous spending while in college via credit paid off tremendously for me, as I was able to put about $45,000 just on my own credit cards. 4 - What do you miss most about being in Raleigh? The OPTIONS. Many great restaurants, retail options. Also, we have several very close friends in Raleigh. 5 - What's the best part about living where you are, outside of your own business. The scenery and the weather, closeness to the mountains. Morganton is arguably surrounded by mountains, but it's essentially the gateway. There are trails galore, too. 8/13/2014 3:45:53 PM |

While I love their pizza, I think it has too much cheese (and thus is too thick) to be considered a true NY style pizza, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT OPINIONS.

I ate at Moondog on Saturday afternoon. It was very tasty.
It was kind of in a weird spot. I always assumed this place was downtown, in a walkable area but it's not at all. It's on a corner of two busy thoroughfares with very limited parking. 3/28/2016 10:09:27 AM |
