What's the most embarrassing/awkward experience you have ever had with someone coming to your door? Delivery people, salespeople, neighbors stopping by, etc.

I think mine is a tie. I got a package that required a signature, and I expected it to come earlier in the day. When it arrived, I was getting ready to go out for the evening and was naked with curlers in my hair and half my makeup on. I threw on a giant fluffy pink robe and ran out to meet the postal carrier in the driveway. I felt like a stereotypical sitcom character. She laughed at me but said it wasn't the strangest thing she'd seen someone wearing.

Another day we had a group of a dozen friends from NC visiting us in Florida. We were all (except the DD) pretty tipsy on Saturday around 5, when we were about to head to dinner. Two Girl Scouts and their dad came by selling cookies. A bunch of us bought cookies, but I could tell the dad was not so happy that they stumbled on a crowd of drunkards. I kept apologizing, which I think made it even more uncomfortable for him.

When three old ladies came to my door asking me if I had found jesus and to come to their church. They were so nice and sweet and I felt bad telling them I didn't believe in that stuff and would not be coming to their church. Once I came back in my girlfriend told me I had a big blob of mustard on my cheek from the burger I was eating.

Probably the time I was drunk after being at the pool all afternoon and answered the door in my bathing suit to a bunch of Mormons. They were pretty hot, so I just decided to roll with it and started flirting with them. Yelled to my roommate that there were hot guys in suits at our door and she came out without pants on. They asked if they could come back at a better time and told them we stayed pretty busy.

not really awkward but I was at a friend's apartment on the other side of the city and it was late at night. We were walking out when we found a Dominos driver trying to find the exit (interior hallways, long confusing corridors). He followed us out. We continued on to the bar. That very same night around 2am we go back to my place and order Dominos, hammered. It ends up being the same driver at my door and the mutual reaction was nothing short of

we then tried to get him to stay and drink and watch Space Camp with us.

That reminded me of two stories with NCSUHippie.

Once we had a pizza delivery guy who seemed stoned. He was intrigued by the cat tower I had in my living room and asked some question about cat furniture. Hippie said something about cats liking furniture. I tipped him in cash with a few $1s, which he dropped and picked them up one by one as he was awkwardly backing up to leave, still talking about cat furniture.

Another time we ordered a pizza, ate it all, ordered another one and had the same delivery guy show up. He first drove past my place, then parked by the neighbor's place, came to the door and said, "Am I wrong, or did you order something else a little while ago?" SO WHAT. DON'T JUDGE US PIZZA GUY.

I had a Papa John's guy deliver to a party I was throwing in college. Kid shows up and we're all wasted and we invited him in and got him to take two straight shots of Jack Daniels and he just kind shrugged and nodded yes. Then we asked him if he wanted to do a strike out (bong rip, take shot, chug beer, exhale bong rip) and he again just nodded affirmatively. Dude never said a word the entire time. Not a single word.

In the past year, it's been kids going door to door selling cookies or taking donations. They've got their cute little wagons and their welcoming smiles, but when a 200 lb black guy with two feet of locs answers the door, they forget the entire spiel they'd planned out.

We order pizza from a local place and usually get the same delivery driver that likes to play with our dog on the porch. So when we hear the porch door open, we let our dog out and he goes and plays with him. Only this time there was a new delivery guy...and this guy looked like and was the same height at Peter Dinklage. I think our 80lb dog outweighed him and their faces were at about the same height. That poor delivery guy got slobber all over him.

When we realized what happened we apologized profusely and felt really bad about it. But he was a good sport.
