Popular Science link, makes me believe semi-credible.

To sum it up, people are discovering cell phone towers that are seemingly not owned by anyone and appear to have the capability to listen in to calls and push malware to phones. Towers seem to be near military bases.

I don't know what to think of it, may be real, may be a total ruse to sell more of the "gee wiz $texas" phones mentioned in the article.

Any "gee wiz" TWWrs want to chime in on the plausibility?

Deliberately didn't read the article, so there is no danger of me commenting on specifics I shouldn't comment on, but the basic gist of the headline is credible. I thought the cover was already blown on this a while back?
