Am I still destined for Cook Out? Or are there some other options these days for takeout/drive-through? 9/10/2014 12:03:25 AM |

That's like asking is there any better hot dog in Raleigh than the Roast Grill's.
Cook Out reigns supreme 'round these parts.

Snoopy's.
Didn't i hear that a downtown restaurant is opening a late-night serving window?
and I guess they never opened another Time-Out after they closed the one for the Hillsborough Revitalization?

^^^ There's a hot dog place called Tasty 8's that serves until 3 AM out of a window. It's not great, overpriced, and the clientele base is awful (not their fault).
The Borough is good and serves until 2 AM. 9/10/2014 11:44:08 AM |

is your hipster snob act real or fake? because Tasty 8's is fucking delicious.
Is it not not-trendy enough for you? does it need whole grain gluten free farm raised hand massaged pork or something? 9/10/2014 12:18:06 PM |

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I can't speak to the taste, but I did look at the menu and it seems pretty pricey for hot dogs. But I'm willing to give it a shot. 9/10/2014 12:34:33 PM |

As a restaurant, it seems like they'd be familiar with the concept of warm food. That's weird that they decide to serve their food cold. 9/10/2014 1:32:25 PM |

Oy, it's been like 5 years since I was in Raleigh and I have no clue what is good anymore. My plane is getting in at 8, and I'm supposed to take somebody out for their birthday that night. Nice late night dinner and drinks between the airport and, say, the middle of downtown? Thanks! 12/20/2016 1:52:20 PM |

That place is fucking packed this time of year.
What time are you looking at getting to the restaurant? Most straight up restaurants close around 11 even on Fridays. 12/20/2016 1:59:05 PM |

I'm trying my damnedest to not check a bag, so maybe a 9:30 seating? And that would be the day after Christmas, of course. Is a lot of stuff closed that night? you can get lobster and foie gras at 2 am around here, so I have a dim recollection of how rolled up the sidewalks are in Raleigh. 12/20/2016 2:24:10 PM |

At 9:30 you should be fine. Especially if you're heading downtown. It'll really depend on what you and your friend like. There's no shortage of places to grab a bite and a couple drinks downtown, but your choices can get pretty slim outside the beltline heading back up Glenwood until you hit Brier Creek. 12/20/2016 2:29:51 PM |

yeah there isn't much along Glenwood...plenty in Briar Creek though

Lynnwood is also around that area of Glennwood, along with Flying Burrito.
I dig MoJos downtown. Cool place to grab a good burger and a few beers.
Brier Creek has Bar Louie if you're looking a little more night-lifey (for that area). I dig Trali Irish Pub (down Brier Creek Blvd a bit), good food and decent beer selection. 12/20/2016 3:02:39 PM |

There's a few decent restraunts on Glenwood around Pleasant Valley Promenade (Dos Taquitos, SawasDee Thai, Salsa Fresh, Waraji Japanese), but all close around 9:00 or 9:30 on weeknights. 12/20/2016 3:27:25 PM |
