i'd be interested in seeing a comparison of how some of the top consistent typers do with different keyboards.

I messed up three words and went back and corrected them. Wonder how that would have changed my score if I had kept going:

yeah that's nuts. I got 71 and that's going about as fast as I could. I don't have any desire to type any faster either. What I typed on this test is not how I would normally type....I'm much more careful in making sure I'm not screwing up as well as actually thinking about what I'm typing. I have absolutely no need or desire to type 100+ wpm.

decades of repetitive practice i suppose

this test was relatively easy though. the tough ones have numbers and !@#$%^&* and stuff

i have to look at the keyboard sometimes for the shift+# symbols

IMO, this one really measures how fast your fingers are. Because I don't think I normally do this well on typing tests (with numbers and more shift key stuff):

I can generally type as fast as I read... I'm actually reading two words or so ahead of what i'm typing, so when i'm super concentrating I can get 100+ wpm. I'm more comfortable around 85-90 wpm when i'm not trying to "win."

Seems like one of the easier tests out there. Having longer, uncommon words will bring down your WPM a lot.
