A manager I work with wants to set up her email so that her emails will only be sent from (for example) 8am Monday-5pm Friday. If she creates an email outside of this range, it will be automatically saved as a draft, etc. and sent automatically once she is back in the office on monday at 8am.
Is this possible? She sees that you can schedule an individual email to be delivered at a later date/time. But she wants this to be set up as a rule for ALL emails she drafts outside of this time period (weekends).
Any ideas?

Don't try to send emails during times outside of the proposed parameters.
Or, yah know, click on/keyboard shortcut save instead of send...

Oddly enough I have this problem, sometimes I clean out my email at 2am or later, but I would rather not be making my clients phones beep at that hour laying on their nightstand. (also some people probably think I am crazy)
There should be a way to schedule an email for future sending, like at 8am to give the illusion that I am up at a normal hour and working. 9/27/2014 2:10:20 AM |

Being in consulting it gives a much better impression if you're a 'normal person' working 'normal hours'. My team typically waits until normal business hours to send client updates. Usually any late night or weekend updates get sent to our internal team then once the business day starts in the client timezone we send out the update. I feel like that's a little more professional. Plus it gives us a safety net of "oh I fucked that analysis up - I've got to redo it". 9/27/2014 2:42:11 AM |

I am doing a free trial of boomerang for Gmail. You can set messages to send later. Like in my case, 8am to look like I am up working when I am actually still asleep.
This also avoids me making my clients smartphone beep at odd hours of the night. 10/2/2014 1:24:56 AM |
