Don't glorify murder.

I don't think the man in those photos would approve of hero worship, and likely regrets having to kill a man with obvious mental issues. By all accounts, the gunman was in a years-long bureaucratic hell in trying to get a passport to leave canada to a muslim country which he thought was the only way to break his drug habit. He had already admitted to police that he committed robbery so he could use prison as a drug rehab, since no other social programs were available to him. It's impossible to view this week's events as anything but a failure of government and society.

Maybe they can spend some of that giant goofy golden stick money on prevention next time.

In addition, bicornes are only fashionable when worn athwart!

The only murder we saw was Michael Joseph Hall killing Nathan Cirillo in cold blood. Not even a liberal tear was shed for the terrorist Michael Joseph Hall's death.

The Queen should go ahead and knight him and Stephen Harper should let him keep the big-assed golden stick.

And while smc is an ass, I have to agree with him on wearing it amidships like Jack Aubrey.

What do you guys think the supply is like on ignant fuckup muslim converts in the US? I think the terrorist have decided if they recruit online inside the targeted countries they dont have to get them past customs and stuff.

The only flaw in their plan is they recruit the misfits like the guy in this incident, who get taken out quickly by a guy in a funny hat and colonial attire.

"1) His name is Kevin Vickers. KEVIN VICKERS. That’s an awesome name, and you know it. Somewhere in Hollywood someone’s already writing the script for the Kevin Vickers movie, and Liam Neeson is probably in talks to star.

2) This is what he looks like. Seriously. Look at this man. He looks more like your grandfather than a SEAL Team 6 dude. He looks like he’s about to frown and ask anyone if they’ve seen his reading glasses. Harmless, right?

3) WRONG. He straight up killed a man attacking Canada as calmly as if he was playing shuffleboard. This is why we respect our elders. "

He likes to play dress up in cocked hats and represents everything wrong with Canada. All pomp and no substance. They have a long and ignoble of history of getting drawn needlessly into wars by their masters(the UK and USA) and their people suffer terribly because of it.

When Canada joins wars it has no business fighting:

Actually, 2000 killed, 9000 injured. Canada never learns. If they looked after their own people instead of being America/Britain's expendable lapdogs, this wouldn't have happened.

They had a similar explosion in WWII. Even in subsequent wars in which they officially abstained, they were good little merchants of death for us. We dropped more nukes on Canada than the Soviet Union, and they thanked us for it.

Hey, smc should give the Canadians more credit. They successfully kicked ass against two Nazi battalions on Juno beach during D-Day.

When we burned Toronto in 1812, we stole the parliamentary mace(that retarded giant gold stick in the first photograph) and took it to Washington. FDR felt sorry for them and returned it in 1934.

"4) He’s the hero Canada needs, deserves, and loves. The man is handy with a piece, but he’s a peace-first type. Check out this quote: “I told them that if they made me sergeant-at-arms, there would be no walls built around Canada’s parliament.” We don’t know whether he’d change his mind on that now, but we respect his stance -- as Benjamin Franklin said, those who would choose safety over liberty deserve neither.

5) His official position is sergeant-at-arms, which, a) sounds awesome, like a no-nonsense badass with really incredible arm-strength and b) means he wears an outfit that makes him look like a rich but still modest French nobleman from the 1700s.

6) One thing you do when you’re the sergeant-at-arms? You get to carry a mother-flippin’ SCEPTER. In the Hollywood movie about Kevin Vickers, he totally kills the attacker with said scepter. "

Walls around parliament are the least of their concerns. The level of snooping the Canadian government is going to do now would make the NSA blush.

And this may just be me wearing my tin foil bicorne, but it's feasible that the shooter was primed/activated by government handlers to carry out his attack just in time to ensure that the anti-terror bill the prime minister was planning to introduce on Wednesday was guaranteed to pass. There had been substantial opposition to the measure up until that point.

American authorities have been repeatedly caught goading vulnerable Muslims into becoming criminals, even here in Raleigh. All it would take is an extra pep talk by his helpful "brother" and a little bit of anxiety-inducing medicine in his tea to push him over the edge.

"7) Remember when we said he was peace-first? When he was a cop -- specifically, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police -- he never fired his gun. In 29 years. We imagine he was more of the convincing negotiations type.

8) That fact just makes the fact that he took down a terrorist in the Parliament Building with a 9mm so much more impressive.

9) Also, at 58, he runs regularly during his lunch hour to stay in shape. (Bad guy-takedown shape, obviously.) He's great at running and shooting? This guy is one pair of skis short of a biathlon competitor. And we bet he has that pair of skis in his garage. "

"10) With so much Islamophobia bubbling up -- which goes directly against Canada’s values of politeness and multiculturalism -- Vickers won’t be one of the people to fall into base xenophobic ranting. In 2009 he was formally recognized by the Association of Progressive Muslims of Canada for his “efforts to promote bias-free policing and diversity in the workplace” in the Parliament Building.

11) Hell, he’s inclusive of all kinds of people, exchanging tobacco and sympathizing with Canada’s First Nations protestors during 2012’s Idle No More movement and to Canada’s Sikhs after Quebec’s National Assembly banned their ceremonial kirpan dagger.

12) He became a Canadian hero on Wednesday and he was back at work on Thursday. All we’re saying is if he stopped by a Tim Hortons this morning for a honey cruller and a medium double-double (and as a Canadian, he definitely did), there’s no way he had to pay. And the same applies for the rest of his life. "

"13) Canada believes in peace -- but it also believes in justice. And if you kill the soldier posted at the War Memorial and shoot up the Parliament Building, you deserve justice, big-time. Like any good Canadian would, you bet Kevin Vickers feels a little bad for killing someone. But… #SorryNotSorry

14) He has a son who’s a constable in New Brunswick named Andrew Vickers. Looks like Canada is safe from the next generation of evildoers.

15) This isn’t Vickers’ first time in the spotlight. In 2011, when then-Parliament page Brigette DePape silently protested Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s policies, Vickers was on the case. Respectfully. Rather than tackling her to the floor and beating her up, he led her away by the arm like he was sending his daughter off at her wedding. Why? Because that’s the Canadian way. "

See he could have beaten that girl with the gold pole or drew down on her with his handgun but he politely escorted her from the chambers.
