I don't know if I would have hit her for my own safety reasons. Like in this case he got jumped as soon as it happened.

I'm okay with him doing it. I mean that smack probably hurt but it wasn't a KO punch.

Also, is there something legitimately wrong with the guy? I could only hear him once and it did sound like he was at least partially deaf. Even when she was cussing him out he was just sitting there smiling. I know we missed the beginning but from what we see in the video the worst thing he did pre-slap was say bitch.

So..yeah..

It looks like the guy was just taking it all in stride, for the most part, until someone hit him.

If that's the case, he was defending himself in my opinion. From the news article, it looks like he was charged as well as the others for this whole thing. I bet he would win in court if he fought this.

I mean this is a perfect example of when "never hit a woman" goes out the door. He stood there and took her yelling in his face which is hard enough to do. I dont care who you are once you decide to hit me unprovoked you have basically given up your right to protection and deserve to be hit back. The fact he didnt knock her ass out is lucky on her part.

Also, after the fight broke out he went straight after the dudes coming after him it didnt appear he hit any of the girls again. Just because you are a woman doesnt give you the right to run your mouth like a total bitch and not expect anything in return.

Pretty impressed by the tall dude in the fist fighting scene with the "white knight". He had some solid defensive and thrust moves. I def doubt that it was his first time fighting/sparing.

as for ppl saying that you should be able to hit a girl in self defense: Don't be an idiot. Just walk away, even if she is going hard at you. No way that the law will be on your side.

And it was a "one-on-one" situation. It appeared there were several other people with this girl...so kid was getting ganged up on a bit. He was definitely in more of a defense mode than Ray Rice (who actually delivered the first "hit" in the elevator).

And yes...open faced slap is not as bad as a fist punch.
