Mostly due to a lack of professionalism (not doing minimum tasks like attending meetings, submitting paperwork, staying for the entirety of the day)

A former coworker who started working right out of school did mediocre work at best. She was a workplace 7, at best. Probably a regular 4 outside of work. No advanced programs, degrees, experience, accompmishnents, or achievements to speak of. However, she catapulted through the ranks fairly quickly... Far faster than any cohorts.
She also rubbed elbows with a lot of the male senior managers. It was widely rumored and generally accepted that she sucked many a dick, and got her guts dug out on a fairly regular basis to get the treatment she got.
