I had a company call me to do a phone interview. I thought they meant they needed to schedule one, but just started right into it. I was in the car (parked) without any forewarning, no copy of my resume or the job description and I had sent in my application like 6 months before, so I barely remembered any of the pertinent info.

this isn't the "weirdest" but about 20 min ago I got a call on my cell from a woman (who later revealed to me her birthday was in 1940, making her 74 years old) from "Humana" trying to persuade me to sign up for complimentary in-home visits by an LNP for annual "wellness exams". She seemed sweet as pie but didn't understand why I thought it was weird and/or unnecessary.

I got a call once from a guy who thought his wife was cheating on him, and was going through her phone calls and calling everyone that showed up on it.

It wasn't me, and I really didn't know why his wife had called our house, but he was all calm and explanatory and stuff. All "Hey my name's Louis (or whatever it was), I think my wife is sleeping around, and I have a list of all the phone numbers dialed out of our line the past month and I'm calling them all to check up on her. Did you sleep with her?"

Got a couple, several months apart, from the same Indian dude saying there's a warrant out for my arrest and I need to call some random fuck about it. The message goes on for like 2 god damn minutes.

My wife got a series of increasingly hostile voice mails from some dude one night about a stolen truck. He kept leaving messages along the lines of "I know you have my truck" or something along those lines, accompanied by things like "I know where you live" and "I'm going to come find you and fuck you up". It was clear that he thought he was talking to someone he knew from the way they were phrased. If it weren't for the fact that it was some dude we had never met and didn't even know a last name it might have been a little concerning, but I'm pretty sure if he had actually found an address using the phone # somehow, it would have been clear that we were not the person he thought he was talking to. And we weren't even in town at the time.

Ended up having to call the phone company at like 1 AM and get that number blocked.
