I bought a pair of boxers this morning, brought them home, and there's clearly a stain/smudge in the seat

I've never washed clothes before I wore them, but this disgusting discovery changes everything

always. it's not really b/c i think they're dirty though, it's more b/c i don't see any reason to wear the clothes once before they shrink. wear them as they will be.

Yes. In the back of my mind I assume that the clothes have chemicals on them, from the manufacturing process, that I don't necessarily want pressed up against my skin all day.

In some regard, males have it better in this area.

The prospect of women trying on bathing suits and putting the fibers in close contact with the vag is a much more unsettling prospect.

btw what fucking store allows you to try on boxers? Vacuum seled hanes or boxed boxerbriefs please, straight from the factory. Thanks.

I also think they smell funny before they are washed, reinforcing my phobia about the chemicals.

Swimsuits are no problem.

It's deodorant marks all over the clothes and every other woman trying to squeeze into garments one and two sizes too small that makes trying on or wearing stuff right out of the store unsettling.

Also, "chemicals."^^^

Always wash...I figure other people may have been trying them on. Plus, I feel like there's a good chance the clothes are dirty anyways. From the time they were manufactured, shipped to the store, unpackaged, placed on shelves, refolded a hundred times...it's time to wash em

^Decent places do steam/clean clothes to keep them fresh while they're for sale.

Didn't know this. Never really thought about it, but I guess it makes sense.

I'll still wash before wearing...but that's interesting to know. Would also like to know what "decent places"...just out of curiosity.
