Dang, very very very nice. One of my favorite Benzes, up there with the 560SEC, 300SEL 6.3 and of course the 300SL gullwing. 12/17/2014 10:36:53 PM |

I've had a boner for that car for the last 22 years. Love Love Love. My dad had a 1987 300E - those cars are built like tanks. Truly one of the best cars MB ever made. 12/18/2014 8:57:11 AM |

Agreed. Fat, fast, comfortable kraut tank built for eating miles in comfort and speed. I love the classic, simple and clean lines on the seats as well. I will own one at some point in my life. Those were definitely the golden MB years, although I do like 2006+ years as well. 12/18/2014 5:11:31 PM |

Those happen to be my favorite MBs too!
I started following cars in the mid 80's, and those classic MBs always used to tickle my fancy.
The 500E was basically the precursor to the AMGs. Love the fact that the engine was Porsche-built.12/19/2014 12:04:04 AM |

Mercedes celebrates the 25th anniversary of the 190 E Evo II
Quote : | "Mercedes is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II by taking a look back at the iconic model.
Originally unveiled at the 1990 Geneva Motor Show, the Evo II featured an aerodynamic body kit with modified bumpers, flared wheel arches and a prominent rear wing. The car also had an optimized chassis and larger 17-inch wheels.
A 2.5-liter engine resided under the hood and produced 235 PS (173 kW). This enabled the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
By the time production ended in May of 1990, Mercedes had built 502 units which was the minimum to comply with FIA regulations for homologation of Group A vehicles for DTM. Pricing started at 115,259.70 Deutsche Marks which is roughly the equivalent of €58,931." |
235 hp from a NA 2.5 litre is still excellent today!
