^ they kill more white people actually, but not by much. When you weight for population, a black is like 3-4x more likely to be shot than a white.

But the bigger, related, problem is that blacks are stopped and hassled more, and prosecuted more, than whites, even in cases where whites might be more likely to commit a certain offense. This over-policing tends to lead to over-shooting.

I hate how any concern about the fact that many police killings are unjustified and in many cases negligent makes you out to be a cop hater that does not understand how hard their job is.

There is a such thing as criminal negligence and manslaughter. We have sent soldiers who are way more stressed than cops to prison for killing innocent people in a war zone, but people think its out of the realm of possibility that a cop should be punished.

In some of these cases the officer might not be culpable enough to be criminally charged, but many would feel much safer if those cops were at least fired! Most people in America go to work every day knowing that if they fuck something up they will be fired, an unjustified killing should be treated in the same way.
