So, this is going to get nostalgic. I used to play Counter Strike on the NCSU server way back in the day. Quit playing for a while, then later when Xbox (original) came out I got Counter Strike for console and always had fun playing the bots.

I can't find a good FAQ for the counter strike that is on Steam. I don't want to play GO online, I really just want a very private experience where I can go dominate bots repeatedly with no need for a continuous campaign. Does anyone know if the CS on Steam has this capability... Secondarily, if someone can help me find a good FAQ or forum thread based on the topic I would appreciate it.

I think most empty servers will generate bots until others start joining in. This is for CS:Source as well as CS:GO.

I played a lot back in the day (also on the NCSU server), then had a few years hiatus, and now I picked up with CS:GO because of my intermittent off time from work and nothing else to do in the area. It's really not too bad, except for mic spammers (seems to be a huge issue now). The competition against real players is much higher now, not nearly as often overrun by n00bs (though, prepare for 10 year olds on the mic).

I tried getting back into good ol' 1.6, but those servers are overwhelmingly packed with Central/South Americans, and it seems like many more hackers now.
