im looking at a kawasaki kx 250. from 2002

guy said its been in storage for about a year. said it has compression.

could use tires (still have the knobs on them, probably fine for a while).
def needs carb looked at
body is fine. missing rear plastic, and you can tell its been dropped as well.

is $200 worth it?

are the kick starts on these newer bikes suppose to be real easy? im used to a kick start having a bit of resistance. the bike didnt have gas and even if it did, it probably wouldnt start up. so i wasnt expecting that. but i could hear the engine turning over. so i know compression is there, but unsure how much.

also, where would a vin/serial number be on these? some atvs have them on the frame under the front fenders, but id like to make sure its not a fishy deal.

VIN plate for motorcycles is typically located on the steering-head tube..... unless it's a total shit-piece the price is sketchy, to me.

If you purchase it, I would drain the fuel tank, replace the fuel lines & vents, replace the spark plug and then rebuild the carburetor before even trying to start it.

^this

I've heard $3-$4 per cc is a good ballpark for an older bike in decent condition. This thing must either be a total pile or stolen.

I paid 600 for a crf100, that hasn't changed in 20 years. $200 sounds like a stolen bike

Have you bought this piece yet or what? When are you going to jump that gap from the Cookout parking lot to the old KFC parking lot on Western?
