I was starting to feel really positive about this game. Cat just continues to improve, Anya and Leonard have really formed a defensive presence, and TJ (oops, I mean Trevor) just continues to make scoring look easy.

But then I realized that we are playing Duke, and they are playing to keep their 1 seed. So yeah, expect Lacey and Anya to have 3 fouls each before the half.

If last night's Cat and Lacey show up tonight, we'll have a punchers chance. Duke is very good. We'll have to play our best game of the season as a unit to keep up with them. I don't think we'll get by with Cat and Lacey carrying us like we did last night. Gonna need a couple more folks in double digits. If i'm wrong, i'll come back and say i'm wrong. If somehow we can get Duke in foul trouble, it will help tremendously. They only go 7 deep and only have 2 legit big men.

^^ A puncher's chance? We already beat them this year, and that was back when Cat was playing like Javi Gonzalez. Duke is better than they were in January, but we've gotten much better as well.

It's a puncher's chance because we'll literally have to play our best game of the season to beat Duke tonight.

Yeah we beat Duke at home earlier in the season, but they were having a rough patch, they almost lost @Wake the game before us, lost to us, and then lost the next game by double digits to Miami at home. Since then they've lost 1 game and beaten a lot of good teams. They haven't lost since they kicked Suilaman off the team.

When we played Duke earlier in the year, Grayson Allen wasn't even getting much PT and their guards weren't shooting like they're shooting right now. They'll clearly be the favorites tonight and they'll be fresh.

I think we either eek out a 2-3 point win or they beat us by double-digits. Duke wants that #1 seed and are playing great right now. Plus we already beat them once this year, not like we're going to sneak up on them, I'm sure they want some revenge. Plus the refs last night were calling everything little thing, I'm sure Duke will have us in foul trouble all game.

Tomorrow I expect we'll be blaming the refs.

I think it's a dumb phrase to use in this situation. IMO it should be saved for Belmont/Lehigh vs Duke. Not for a team that beat them by 12 this year.

Anyone who watches basketball and is realistic realizes this isn't a likely win. Sure we beat them earlier in the year and yes we are playing better now than we were at that time. However, they are significantly better than they were then as well and this game is not at home. We are going to have to shoot very well and hope they arent hitting their 3's. If Anya can bother Okafor and stay outta foul trouble that would help quite a bit as well. This is a winnable game, but only if we play really well and Duke is having an off night. I think we keep it close but end up losing by 6-8 after free throws.

^that's the best way. used to do it every year the tournament was in greensboro. look for desperate, dejected fans. they're the cheapest. might even give them away for free. especially if you have a hot girl or cute kid to do the bargaining.

Anyhow, I hope Gott takes a chapter from Duke vs Miami and have the bigs set tons of high screens for Barber especially with the way he's playing recently. Okafor is an amazing center but his defense is his biggest weakness by a large factor and would love to see Barber get him in foul trouble by attacking the basket.
