i'll almost guarantee that the prosecution had a very weak case without much evidence and offered a very attractive plea deal. Sucks...either a terrible murderer is getting a relative slap on the wrist, or a not guilty man is getting raped by the long dick of the law. It's not a perfect world, I guess.

Innocent people take plea deals all the time. Four years is nothing compared to the possibility of life.

Also, they probably already served a good portion of time before the trial would have taken place.
