The cops say Gray was walking and talking fine when he got into the police van.


To me, it didnt look like he was walking that well to me, i.e., legs dangling limp as he was dragged about. And it didnt look like he was talking to me.... instead, screaming in pain.

Im guessing when the police tackled him and slid their knee into the back of his neck, thats when they snapped his neck. Then they moved him. The van ride was enough time for his neck to swell, and for him to go from screaming to not being able to talk at all.

So the police are saying that they did not put a seat belt on Gray in the wagon. Baltimore police in the past have been accused of giving arrestees a "rough ride" to the police station in the past. Cant help but wonder if thats what happened here.

Also, no word yet on what any investigation has uncovered about the actual takedown.

They are doing that to cover their ass. They can easily say it was too dangerous to have officers in that confined space with him as an excuse for why they didn't buckle him in. And then they will say it was an accidental death and all the officers will walk.

To buckle the passengers in is protocol. Though maybe to admit fault in not buckling him in is the better of the two evils (for the police). As in, they will receive a less harsh punishment for that than for injuring gray while taking him down/beating his ass if that's what happened

Riots resulting in structure fires would probably result in about $2 billion dollars worth of improvements to West Baltimore. Maybe this is what the Baltimore Mayor is hoping for here. Or maybe the Mayor is trying to keep the homicide rate down by treating this as an accident; we're already up to 64 homicides this year, with only 8 being solved. One of those shootings was of the City Council Leader's nephew, which resulted in a large ramp-up of police activity last month.

Guess I'll avoid going to an Orioles game until this stupidity settles down. I've never heard of a stadium having to prevent people from leaving due to a riot going on outside.

Complete fabrication. If crips and bloods and other gangs could work together they wouldn't spend every waking minute trying to kill themselves over street corners that they will never own.

The precedence has been set, if you got cops doing fucked up shit and you refuse to punish them. Expect a riot. 2 weeks is more than enough time to figure out how a guy ended up with a broken neck and severed spine. Also more than enough time to bring some form of charges or punishment to the officers involved.

I was referencing the possibility the police/media playing the victim; trying to paint a picture where they are being hunted by gangs that have teamed up to exterminate them (and everyone else). Where the fact of the matter is police slayings has been trending downwards lately.
