that you are still mad about? Yes, I stole this from reddit

I was a kid, and at Carowinds with my brother. We got in line for a roller coaster, and waited, and waited, and waited our way all the way up to the front. When we were 2 or 3 cars away from loading onto the coaster, some security guard came up to us and said "we saw you two skipping in line. You need to exit the roller coaster now." We explained to the guy that we had been waiting in line the whole time. His only response was "if you don't exit now, you will be ejected from the park and your season passes will be voided"

Still pissed about that one
To make matters worse, the people ahead and in back of us could have piped up at any time... Any fucking time.... And said "hey, these kids have been waiting in line with us the entire time"

My dad lived in N. Myrtle Beach when I was a pre-teen adolescent, and I lived down there during the summers living the life as a local. We had an arcade that we all hung out at when we weren't surfing or watching point break. Well, my step brother at the time befriended two kids new to town down in the local trailer park, and they took pride in stealing/shoplifting whenever they could.

Well one day these dudes and my step brother decided it would be a good idea to rip off the local arcade (which was literally a block from our house) by crawling under the ski-ball machine and taking tickets out. I was against it from the start and told them it was stupid, but they thought it would be fun. well, obviously the arcade guy knew what was going on, but the next time we went there, he pointed to my stepbrother and his friends, and said you three can stay, but this guy (pointing at me) is not welcome. Next thing I know I'm sitting outside by myself while they are spending their questionably obtained tickets, and a cop car rolls up, stuffs me in the back seat, and the arcade guy came out and said "yep that's the one who was stealing my tickets"

I was 12 so the cop just took me home, but that was pretty much the last time I ever spent in Myrtle Beach... My step mom immediately put me in her car while my dad was at work, and drove me back to raleigh. My dad left her shortly after, (in part because he told her not to take me home since I didn't do anything... i have never been dishonest with my parents)... Anyway, I never that clan again.

When my mom bought "premium" cereals (basically anything besides corn flakes), my older brother and I never got any. My two youngest siblings did. Anytime a new cereal came along she'd be like "ooo gotta try that", but would we get any? Nope. I would say I'm not bitter about it, but it immediately came to mind when I read the topic, so maybe I am.

Also, I got my own TV one Christmas but it was in the kitchen/dining room, so I had to sit through god knows how many sporting events because anyone older than me (including cousins) had priority. I remember when I got a house and bought a TV someone said to me "So we're coming to your house to watch the big game, right?" I was like.

Left one of my favorite shirts in the gym in high school. Went back to find it later that day and it's not there.

a couple days later I see someone wearing it.

Me: "Hey man, is that my shirt? I left one like it in the locker room."

Him: "Really? Nah man I don't know what you mean"

He was 2 years older than me and a state champ wrestler so there wasn't really anything I could do after that.

I wanted a go cart. I didn't get one.

Being on the tip of the millenial generation, I think it is fairly obvious that I deserve one.

Injustice: one time a homeless man forced me to read Wolfweb. He wanted to show me his post in a back alley.

And then he asked me to "start a thread" and I ran away

Still mad about that one.

Also his name was "OP"

Pretty much the whole downward arc of my life can be traced to fifth grade. According to all of the metrics, I was the smartest person at that shithole elementary school. The principal was blocking efforts to get me sent to a magnet, because of the effect on test scores.

But of course, I didn't know any of that shit at the time. What I did know was that the "accelerated reader" program was a joke. There were rewards for good performance, but they stopped at some paltry low score. By spring I had something like 12 times the highest threshold to get a reward, and that reward was pathetic -- I think it was "you get to eat lunch with the principal" or some shit.

Well, my teacher -- a woman whose spelling I routinely had to correct and who was the dumbest person I've ever met in any educational context -- wanted to rectify this. She handed me a special certificate which offered "anything you wish" in exchange for my point total. OK, finally, something I can work with.

"I want to be able to use the computer lab with four of my friends." The computer lab had games, though not, by this time, internet. Not like we were going to be looking at porn.

"Oh...I'm not sure we can do that. I meant like if you wanted cookies or something."

The same fucking day I get home, and find out that my brother has won a limousine ride to get pizza for lunch before doing some other fun thing I can't remember. Why was he getting all this? Certainly not for any academic achievement -- by this point he was only barely advancing between grades -- nor for sports, which he didn't play. No. He had sold a handful of candy bars in a school fundraiser, which entered him in a raffle, which he and some yokels had won.

From my childish perspective, the lesson was this: Hard work and skill are not rewarded in school, so both are pointless.

It took a few years for the apathy to completely soak in. Middle school sped up the process. There, for the first time, skill and work were punished with violence in addition to simply going unrewarded.

I followed up on everyone who used to torment me.

Occasionally I send out group e-mails to my friends and family (I grew up in a small town) where I forward copies of embarrassing arrest records and "where are they now?" stories about the neighborhood bullies.

Of course I have forgiven them. When I compare their grown mugshots to the memory of their youthful faces mocking me and calling me names (or not allowing me to hang out with them) I realize how long ago it was, but it gives me some sense of closure.

So although this thread is about injustice, I suppose it's about divine justice. Of course not everyone has been arrested, I just dig up things and find embarrassing stories to keep in my mind and remember that life is shitty for everyone.

(so if you didn't read the intro, just go with the following then & now outline)

Childhood Trauma Comparative Outline

Then:
1st grade: Teacher who told me that I was a sub-par learner and that if I forgot my books at home one more time she would beat me (I rode my bike all the way home crying and then my parents saw me and complained about her tactics to the principle which only led to her retaliating by writing me a referral to go to the principle's office)
Now:
I continued to follow up on her to find out what happened and then learned that she was an active member of the NAACP and that her son was killed in a drive-by about 10 years ago (which would have been about 10 years after all the shit she gave me growing up)

Then:
5th grade: bully who called me "Shamu the Killer whale" & punched me
Now:
arrested for drug possession 20 years later and works in the kitchen at a halfway house

Then:
8th grade: bully who told me that he would gouge my eyes out on the football field and would always grab my facemask
Now:
Passed away at age 30 while working as a laborer/housepainter (his profession)

There are more

Shit rehashing this just brought tears to my eyes because life is deeper and more complex than just simple childhood antics. Try looking up people from shitty situations and see if the Universe didn't return with karmic debt.

White girl and her twin white brother and 2 other white kids and my Indian bus driver all got together and lied about me being a bully. Even had stories of going home crying when I never spoke to any other them on the bus, but they hated me for some reason.

I clapped them cheeks senior year of high school, so I say I won eventually.

This is a true story.

My mom use to invite me into her bed when I was a child and then play with my penis. This was after my father passed away from AIDS, so I was naturally in counseling already. One day, I just mentioned this to my counselor because I thought that it was normal, and he immediately reported it to Social Services.

Well, 6 months later, after social services did their thing, I was living with my court-appointed "guardian" that turned out to be a huge Narc Addict. So, all of the money that I was getting form the government for my well-being went directly towards his opium addiction. In return, he made me work weekends and summers for his company. The name of which I wont say because ppl here can look that shit up, but it was installing underground pet fences in the Raleigh area, and I did around 75% of the manual labor. All of which was done without pay.

So, yeah, fuck everybody here that thinks that they know two shits about me.

BTW, I posted this once in confessions about 3 years ago, and now I am just drunk as shit (as usual for 9 PM) and feel like posting it here...again.

On a lighter note.....

In first grade we all planted a lima bean, put them in teh window sill in class and watched them grow. Mine was thriving, in the running for the tallest seedling in the class. On the other end of the spectrum was Tasha Clodfelter. She never watered hers and generally just didnt give a shit about anything. When hers finally shriveled up and died she decided to take out her angst by breaking all the tallest plants in half, mine included.

Y'all are some seriously deluded pussies.

I was crazy weird and emotional, and I got ridiculed for it and cried a lot. But I also cursed a lot and kicked adults in the shins and shoved kids to the ground. Any perceived injustice was handled on the spot, and I stayed in trouble for it.

Anyway, it seems like pretty much none of you have accurate perceptions of the past, and some of you are just regurgitating some bullshit your parents said about how you were smart or special.

I was told I was special all the time--never in a good way.

Bridget, you are special to me.

P.s. I deserved everything I got.

The only thing that I could have really done without is the annual mommy and daddy don't love each other and may be getting a divorce that they never followed through with. But seriously had I have been smart and learned to roll my eyes at their repetitious bs. It wouldn't have felt like I was in a snow globe that got shook every year.

that reminds of one time during gym class in high school i left my clothes in my bookbag, in a corner in the locker room because all the lockers were taken. getting back from gym class, my book bag was opened, and had been rifled through. only thing missing was my white undershirt. which is weird - but not nearly as bad as it could've been.
