not really. it wouldn't have mattered if freddie gray was white, the police should still be held accountable for his death. but it just so happens that racism does sometimes influence law enforcements' actions (as well as in other american institutions), and that does matter.

(and i don't know the details of this motrocycle situation, but if they had been chasing him, and he was attempting to continue to flee after they got out of their car, then the cops' action may be justified.)
