I don't see anyone behaving in an animalistic fashion here, perhaps you could point them out, then specifiy which animals you are comparing them to?

Also I don't really understand tribal. I'm sure you'll point out how tribes sometimes dance, but so does every culture.

I'm not sure what Baltimore has to do with this but it seems stategrad is ok with someone being injuired while causing no harm to others. if only parents raised their children to understand assault is wrong we would be in a better place as a country.

oh c'mon, it's ridiculous to state that these girls were causing "no harm to others." You can cause harm without physically hurting someone. In this case, these chicks were flagrantly interfering with this girl's education, and also depriving her of peace in an environment where she most definitely had a right to peace. And the girl who got hurt violated her personal space pretty shamelessly. These things amount to harm.

stategrad took it way too far (and made it about race - which it totally isn't) but I think this girl's action was absolutely justified.

I dunno how stressed out y'all get... But I've personally had my shoes stepped on quite a few times, and my instinct--every time--is to fuck somebody's shit up. I've never done it though..cause you're not allowed to hurt someone for that offense. If you do, you get "in trouble" and have to go through all that shit where you're made to realize that the person didn't mean any harm, and you overreacted, and violence is never the answer, and blah, blah, blah....

You can understand this person's actions without approving of them.

Anyway, I wanna hurt people all the time, but I don't. This person in the grey hoodie should also consider not hurting people.

Someone stepped onto my arm and the paper I was working on while I was minding my own business, I'd probably push their foot away too. Look at grey hoodie's right arm right when the girl steps onto the other desk.

Is it my fault they put themselves into a dangerous situation to begin with?

it is perfectly acceptable, once a certain level of disrespect has been reached, to physically retaliate against somebody who's fucking with you. If (for example) I walk up to an Asian guy on the street and say "What up, chink?" he's totally justified in punching me in the face.

in the same way, when this one girl steps on the seated girl's desk, she crosses the line where she's absolutely protected against all physical assault. and in my view it becomes acceptable to do what's been done here.
