I'm using Windows 7, and I've noticed recently that I'm unable to access My Computer (or just Computer) from any Windows folders.

The left-hand panel just displays Favorites, Libraries, Homegroup, Computer and Network, but I'm unable to expand any of them in order to view their contents; Libraries, Computer and Network have a searching icon over them when I attempt to view the Computer folder.

Oddly, however, when I attempt to open a file from within an application, I'm able to expand and view the contents of those items in the Open window's left-hand panel.

Does this sound like a virus or something I should be able to resolve myself?

I'm able to access the individual drives if I type the mapped drive letters into the address bar, but I'm unable to access the drives by double-clicking them from the Computer window.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Never mind, this issue's resolved.

I probably should have tried restarting my machine before seeking assistance here.

Any idea what could have caused this? Just not enough RAM?
