It's weird when people say they hate it because it's so cringe, when the whole character of Michael Scott (and by extension the entire show) is built on cringe comedy.

This episode of the Office is probably the most awkward episode of TV I have ever seen.

Interesting thing though, the UK version of the Office is ALL awkward humor. There are only two seasons (+ holiday special I think), and the first ep of the US Office is almost a shot for shot remake of the first ep of the UK Office. But every episode of the UK Office is uncomfortable awkward humor that works, whereas the US version grew its own character.

Except for this one episode. It outdoes everything that the UK Office does in terms of being awkward.
