I'll be hitting up the XBone Beta in December to see if this could be a TWW replacement for Destiny.

I played a good bit at gamescom and E3. The pvp is kinda weak but I haven't played in a few months. It was really just boring cover based shooter where you can change factions mid-fight. I'd really like to get my hands on story mode

Actually had a chance to play some this morning. Enemies go down a bit easier than I was expecting from the vids I watched. Going to be infinitely more fun playing with others on Hardee difficulties. It's hard to judge as I don't know what content they have locked or if this is everything in this section of the map.

Eh... after playing for an hour in "the dark zone" on the Xbone I sent this game to the "uninstall zone"

Boring grind fest IMO like destiny, and the PVP in the darkzone is just chaotic laggy FPS-drop "gun fights" when apparently time wasted trumps aim ability.

The 3rd person cover system is solid but I think it is just copied from Splinter Cell Blacklist... idk Beta and Alpha seem identical so far.

The Dark Zone is pretty nerve wracking, especially if you're trying to explore on your own. Lots of groups of 2-3 agents rolling rogue most of the time. Makes Extraction a nail biter sometimes. I have a feeling TDZ is pretty de-populated for the beta too, I could've sworn I saw a game play video where there was a team running an actual mission in there.

PvP as a whole, I kind of like. Not like CoD twitch based game play. Reminds me a lot more of GoW. Even if you come under fire you have a chance to scramble to get away or set yourself up in a defensible position to fight back if you're inclined.

It's hard to get a feel for the PvE aspect, though I can say that the bullet sponginess we saw in a lot of early footage didn't seem like an issue for regular encounters. Push that story mission up to hard though or roll across some nameds in TDZ and enemies take a lot more damage.

Hats off the Ubi for letting me collect all those weapon/armor parts and blueprints and then being like 'rofl NOPE', actually makes me want to play the release to see the other tech trees and crafting system.

I might dabble some more in TDZ some over the weekend, but overall I completed most of the other stuff. I'm leaving my preorder up on Amazon.

^summed up my thoughts as well. TDZ is gonna be interesting. I was sitting with a random group of like 7 guys last night at the extraction zone. No shooting, just waiting for chopper to arrive. As soon as I hold x to extract, one of the dudes just starts shelling me. I was like...you ass

Big fan after the hour or so I played, and I didn't even get into the fun stuff. Problem is, this might be triggering the same nausea feeling I get from borderlands (which is odd, given FPS vs TPS, and I have no issues with Gears). Hopefully coincidental, I'll give it another whirl today. ncsuthedude on Xbone if anyone wants to group up.

If I had one big gripe right now about PvP is that it's too easy to 'go rogue' - as in, someone dashes across my line of fire and catches a stray bullet and now I'm the bad guy...wtf brah, I was hero-ing here!

I believe at full release you'll be able to complete missions and stuff in the area. As of right now? Theres really nothing to do in there except for shoot at each other and run into a couple higher level than you elite type dudes. You will find better loot in TDZ but you're likely to get killed for it before you can extract it. I imagine its gonna be a puber high zone which is gonna make me quite angry. I can just picture some 13 year old fuck killing me and laughing his puber laugh into the microphone as i'm trying to extract some super rare shit.

I'm really enjoying this game. maxed my ranks as far as the beta can go and got both "exotic" weapons the vendor sells in the dark zone.

My biggest complaint is that the TDZ will SUCK if you aren't rolling with a squad. Like even moreso than crucible or halo CTF solo. It's so hard to do anything in the TDZ because you get overran. But if you have a full 4 man squad, the battles between other 4 man teams are absolutely intense and I love it. I also would love a traditional 4v4 objective game type where you're planting a bomb or something but I don't think they are adding that.

I do like the PvE content so far though. Seems like the story is there to make it interesting

Also if you guys didn't know, theres a glitch in the game where people go rogue as high as they can/run into a "red zone" with the countdown which then teleports you to the safe room and you can't be shot in there. such a cheap tactic that keeps getting abused.

I was finally able to get a full squad in the Dark zone last night. So much better than rolling through alone watching your back at all times.

we actually went 8 deep at one time and started a party chat which made leveling up and getting loot very easy. Yes, squad battles are very cool.

you can also cheat by just going rouge with a big group and just letting the countdown run down and doing it all over again.

I will be keeping my pre order as well after last night.
