Yep! I'm a big tinkerer/printer!
Here's my baby:
It's a rigidbot big (12"x16"x10" print volume, heated bed) that I've done a whole bunch of upgrade work on. Several of which I've put on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/noen/designs
I'm a backer of the Peachy Printer, can't wait to get my hands on that. I've been meaning to play with the Form1 SLA printer in our makerspace but haven't gotten around to it.
Lately I've been working towards taking 3d printed models, cleaning them up and then making molds to cast them in more interesting materials. 8/26/2015 4:18:00 PM |

I've got a 3D printer as well.
It's been run for thousands of hours at this point, I've had to overhaul it twice.
I mainly use it for rapid prototyping for projects I do, but have printed a few fun things. Some of my favorite fun prints have been things like the T-REX skull, the ruined tower, and a T-800 skull. I'll post some pics at some point.
I do my own modeling in either Solidworks or Sketchup depending on how complex the model is. I prefer Sketchup for simple geometry. 9/9/2015 10:17:07 PM |
