2005 F150 5.4L 76k. If the car sits for more than 30 min, it will have a start that seems starved of fuel. I'll give it time for the pump to prime before cranking but no change. Id seen it once every several months but now its every time. Idle is smooth. 10/9/2015 5:00:55 PM |

cycle the ignition on and off several times before you finally crank it and see if it improves or is the same 10/9/2015 5:54:51 PM |

if by "weak" you mean the starter turns more slowly than normal, I've had that happen when a pulley was starting to seize. It was the alternator in my case 10/9/2015 6:37:58 PM |

I'm not sure you're understanding what they're going after above:
Does the engine seem to spin more quickly on the 2nd attempt? I doubt it. Does it seem to spin more slowly than normal or before it developed this problem?
...or does it seem to spin over normally, like any other engine, like it always has, but is reluctant to fire? If so, try what NeuseRiverRat said; if it improves afterwards, that's indicative of a fuel delivery problem (fuel pump, etc). 10/10/2015 10:47:05 AM |

i dont know why i added "on second crank" i just meant the starter motor and load seems normal. it seems like it takes 1-2 seconds to get the right amount of fuel into the cyclinders. like there is just enough to not turn over fully. but its golden on the second try. my guess was fuel delivery as well but its only on the start. wouldnt a bad fuel pump idle poorly and see other issues?
i just tried to get a video and post it to youtube and it cranked fine

so wait, irrespective of when/whether it fires/starts running, does it turn over/crank normally, at normal speed, and consistently?
I think so, based on what you're describing, and based on...i've never seen an engine fail to crank over on the first try, but then be fine on the 2nd, other than a bad solenoid which will cause it to not turn at all sometimes.10/10/2015 6:11:32 PM |

Internet says a lot of fuel gremlins due to corroded fuel pump driver mine looks like a good candidate for replacing
