I for one never considered Playboy to be competing with on-line porn. The appeal of playboy was that it was an adult magazine where i can read adult-oriented articles and enjoy a hot naked chip every few pages. Without the nudity I may as well ready Maxim or those other PG-13 magazines.

Playboy has great articles and all but it's not just typical porn. The girls that pose in Playboy are top of the line and it's at least done as classy as you can for soft porn - hell, look how many celebrities have done Playboy.

Maxim has journalists with 8th grade reading levels writing articles with no regards for facts. The only magazine I would rank below them is Rolling Stone.

^That's mainly because the new owners of the site allowed it to not get caught by all the previous filters. ie the same people who tried to visit playboy.com at work now were able to. Has zero to do with Playboy's profitability.

Then I guess it kinda makes sense. Without nudity, it can be on the shelf with other magazines where everyone can access it...so its sales should invariably rise.
