he's also the candidate endorsed by white supremacy groups

Quote :
"

*The Daily Stormer, a leading neo-Nazi news site, endorsed Trump on June 28. “Trump is willing to say what most Americans think: it’s time to deport these people,” the site said in its endorsement. It then urged white men to “vote for the first time in our lives for the one man who actually represents our interests.”

*Richard Spencer, director of the National Policy Institute, which promotes the “heritage, identity, and future of European people,” said that Trump was “refreshing.” “Trump, on a gut level, kind of senses that this is about demographics, ultimately. We’re moving into a new America,” Spencer said. “I don’t think Trump is a white nationalist,” Spencer added, but noted that Trump embodies “an unconscious vision that white people have -- that their grandchildren might be a hated minority in their own country. I think that scares us. They probably aren’t able to articulate it. I think it’s there. I think that, to a great degree, explains the Trump phenomenon. I think he is the one person who can tap into it.” Spencer, Osnos notes, is not the stereotype of a prejudiced yokel: At 36, he is clean-cut, and boasts degrees from elite universities. The Southern Poverty Law Center, Osnos says, calls Spencer “a suit-and-tie version of the white supremacists of old.”

*Jared Taylor, editor of American Renaissance, a Virginia-based white nationalist magazine, said: “I’m sure he would repudiate any association with people like me, but his support comes from people who are more like me than he might like to admit.” Taylor later told Osnos: “Why are whites supposed to be happy about being reduced to a minority? It’s clear why Hispanics celebrate diversity: ‘More of us! More Spanish! More cucaracha!’”

*Michael Hill, head of the League of the South, an Alabama-based white supremacist secessionist group, said Trump was “good” for the white racist cause. “I love to see somebody like Donald Trump come along,” Hill said. “Not that I believe anything that he says. But he is stirring up chaos in the GOP, and for us that is good.” Osnos attended a speech Hill gave to a crowd of cheering followers in which he railed against the “cultural genocide” of white Americans, which he said was “merely a prelude to physical genocide.”

*Brad Griffin, a member of Hill’s League of the South and author of the popular white supremacist blog Hunter Wallace, has written that his esteem for Trump is “soaring,” and has lauded the candidate for his “hostile takeover of the Republican Party.”"

As someone who leans republican it makes me sad for the future that Donald Trump is still even in contention to be the nominee. I assumed this was just a publicity stunt and as soon as things got serious he would fall so far in the polls he would just drop out. Trump vs. Clinton would be a disaster for America.

i liked trump as a candidate, but lately he's been making erratic public statements and seems to be actually trying hard to make people dislike him.

I still want to believe he's trolling, but even if he is, the result is that he's normalizing a lot of racist, hateful behavior.

It really doesn't get serious until the primaries start. Plenty of time left.

You should be worried about your party, but not Trumps chances to actually win the nomination.

He won't win the nomination, no, but even though he's promised he wouldn't, he'll start up a 3rd party campaign.

I just don't see how anyone can take him seriously anymore.

i believe he means what he is saying, not that its true but that he believes its true. mexicans muslims and blm are not races.

Most racial insensitive people think that race should not be part of any discussion and therefor they think they are less racist than people who are sensitive to racial issues.

Charleston was a tragedy to trump because 9 people died. The fact that a white supremacist killed people in a black church doesn't mean anything except maybe the fact that christians were persecuted.

Its the same sort of alllivesmatter logic.

Every 4 years, there are people who are terrified of what might happen when Candidate X is elected. Then Candidate X is elected, and it's the same as every other 4 years, give or take.

^ i think a big difference with trump is that, as BobbyDigital said, he's normalized some really hateful viewpoints. His social media is filled with white supremacist. He's providing a safe harbor for these people to commune... he's an an agar dish where these views can feed an multiple... <insert some other similar metaphor here>.

Republicans have always been contemptible because of their hatred of the poor and their anti-science religious view points, but Trump is taking this to another level.

I don't think it's a stretch to suggest he'll end up creating a new white nationalist party, like you see in France and Germany.

I'm sure Bernie Sanders' social media is filled with anarchists. Is he going to disband the government if elected? Sounds like you're fear mongering.

Aside from deregulating business, I don't think Donald Trump believes anything he says. He's trying to win and he doesn't give a shit about the GOP, so he doesn't care if he tanks the level of discourse in the party if it leads to his success.

^^^ Bernie Sanders isn't remotely an anarchist (that's more Ron Paul).

But just like Bernie is normalizing the idea of "democratic socialist", Trump is normalizing white nationalists. The damage has already been done from Trump's campaign, just like Bernie has already been successful in creating a pocket of voters that firmly believes in a single-payer-esque healthcare system and federally subsidized higher education.

If Trump were elected, I don't see congress passing religious registration or shutting down places where "muslims congregate", but i see trump spouting more racists nonsense, and more republican politicians on the local levels following suit.

To quote BridgetSPK:
Quote :
" on a societal level... Culture is dynamic. Education helps. And people can change."

This cultural change comes from communication, and Trump (and Sanders and Fiorina and Obama) all have significant platforms for communication.

^^ that's kinda the problem. It's not him believing it that creates problems, it's him saying it and making millions more that might believe it more comfortable with acting on these beliefs. Carly Fiorina might not actually believe there's a video of planned parenthood saying "lets keep it alive to harvest its brain", but she said this to 20+ million people, and one of them shot up a health clinic.

2 boston guys have already beat a homeless immigrant in trump's name. trump supporters "roughed up" a peaceful black protester while yelling racial slurs (an action Trump endorsed). A muslim cab driver was shot in the back over some nutter irrationally enraged by rhetoric like Trumps (probably Trump's rhetoric).

^^Please verify that none of his twitter followers are anarchists, if you're not too lazy

I don't use social media a ton anyway. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna scour some politicians' social media accounts. So I guess I am lazy in that regard. But I'm sure every candidate with 10s of thousands of followers has their fair share of less reputable people following and trying to interact with them

I actually wouldn't mind seeing him as president. I think he is the only one that couldn't care less if he gets reelected for a second term and will just pretty much tell everyone "FUCK YOU!!!!!" Which is what this country needs. It is time to lock our borders, quit trying to be friends with the Muslims, and stop all of the silly spending. Of course none of that will happen no matter who gets in, but the last thing we need is another career politician like Clinton, Bush, or Sanders. That is part of the problem with Washington. Congressmen and senators need term limits too.

It's genetic, and it's why they should never be in charge of anything.

Saying what white racists want to hear to an extent doesn't make him a racist, it makes him a politician.
