Im not writing enterprise apps so i understand the vogue talk. Small business apps to help with things. Simple ticketing system, product shelf life system. Simple shop work order tracking. Pretty SAP custom modules that the small guy cant afford.

github you can't host the DB there, plus all your user/passes would be readable in the repo
use github to show off the code, and openshift/heroku/whatever to show the site working
