I used to skate all the time at Utopia Park in Raleigh back in middle school and I met him there once. He was like a god to us. He was also a famous figure at ECU. Really sucks he cut his life so short.

^ I said the same thing to my girlfriend just yesterday. It is pure speculation, of course, but I can easily see a world where during practice all throughout his life he got regular concussions from falling at such a great rate of speed. Unlike pro football players for example, he wouldn't have a team of doctors pouring over him to assess and treat a concussion... Instead he just walked/biked it off.
