He's pretty clearly got some mental health issues, this is just the latest in a long list of fucked up behavior. Hitting a woman with the mic at a show, throwing money off the balcony of a hotel, arriving 4 hours late to a sold out show and then making insane demands before he would go on, etc.

Dude is either way strung out, or more likely manic/depressive and that's been ramped up by a lot of "self medication"
