I understand how you can look at statistics and use that data to say that being a police officer is less dangerous. But is it?

Most of the jobs that you posted are jobs consisting of individuals using a particular skill to operate a piece of machinery or man made device. A police officer works with people, not machines. I understand that those machines fail which can lead to harm or death but they don't have a mind of their own. Therefore, they possess no evil. Police officers deal with evil. They deal with people good and bad. Each and every scenario can change on a moments notice due to people having a mind of their own. Sometimes these people have an intent to do harm against police officers and they never know when and where its coming. They possess intent whereas most professions don't deal with that.

Now as for "feeling" unsafe, the civil unrest of today's world is leading to more and more instances of officers involved with people who don't trust them and are more uncooperative. Calls where people were nice and cooperative before have turned in to instances of distain. The media has fanned a false narrative which causes the general public to be less willing to have a positive demeanor when dealing with police. Therefore, the "feeling" is that they are more "unsafe" than before.

Today's society has created a ton of sensitive pussy's. Some cops are. But for police in general to say that they feel unsafe doesn't make them pussy's. It makes them human. Humans feel. That's something the media never portrays. They aren't robots. And if you want to talk about statistics, we can talk all day long about how statistics prove that the police are not ALWAYS the problem.
