35-24 only because ECU will expose our DBs for the shitshow they are.
Offense continues to roll on.

ECU - Bunch of points NCSU - More than a bunch of points
Not shocking NC State fans don't want to travel to ECU to deal with drunk fans yelling obscenities the whole game trying to convince our fans that we're rivals. We're only rivals to them because they all wanted to go to NC State or UNC and couldn't get in, so they're either bitter or grew up pulling for UNC and hating NC State anyway. 9/7/2016 9:17:46 AM |

They aren't our rival because They are an out of conference opponent, from a non power 5 conference.
Can you think of any rivalry in the country where one team is in a power 5 conference, and the other team is in a different, non power 5 conference?
No, you can't. Because there are not rivalries like that. Case closed.

^Oh sure, if you are going too just make up teams...
I grew up in Greenville. They def grow up as ECU fans (in football anyway, UNC for basketball) and they HATE nc state. I was one of 2 State fans at my HS. Also, I graduated in 99 and people still wore peach bowl shirts. I hate ecu, prob 3rd behind UNC and Duke, but its a diff kind of hate. With unc/duke, no matter how many times they beat us, I still want to play them. With ecu, if we never played them again, I would shrug my shoulders. Despite UNC fans dismissing us, how many wish to never play us again? We are their rivalry weekend opponent. We are one of their two bball partners. When their fans start pushing to get rid of those relationships, ill put a little more credence in the comparison.

BYU and Utah were longtime conference rivals (in the WAC from 1962-1999, then the MWC 1999-2011).
Colorado only has 4 universities in NCAA Division I, I believe. CU, CSU, the Air Force Academy and UNC (who have only been DI since 2006). It is logical for Colorado and Colorado State to be rivals even though they've never been in the same conference. They are the two biggest universities in the state by far and there are no other schools in the state to choose from. 9/7/2016 10:23:06 AM |

So apparently that was a misquote, replace "they" with "it" plus the question was something like "will it be a challenge preparing for ecu". Those combined make it much more mundanebut iI'msure ecu wwill still use it. 9/7/2016 1:49:47 PM |

Quote : | "NC State, East Carolina renew heated football rivalry in Greenville In-state rivals differ on importance of pivotal matchup for both teams. By R. Cory Smith September 6th, 2016 3:29 pm The North State Journal
East Carolina and NC State have bad blood on the gridiron. This Saturday, they'll finally get to renew one of the oldest rivalries in the state.
Since 1970, East Carolina and NC State have faced off 28 times. The Wolfpack hold a 16-12 lead in the series, but the gap has been narrowed with the Pirates winning seven of the last 12 matchups. In their last game, ECU dismantled State in Carter-Finley Stadium, 42-28, in Dave Doeren's first season.
Bradley Chubb, now NC State's defensive leader, wasn't a part of that team. While he knows the history of the rivalry, Chubb and the defensive line are approaching the East Carolina matchup like any other game.
“It shouldn’t be that big of a challenge. You've got to take every game one-by-one," Chubb said. "We’re going to prepare the same. Nothing’s going to change because one was Double-A and one’s not. They’re just a nameless opponent and you’ve got to prepare the same way and continue to fight.”
(Editor's note: The above quote from Chubb previously included the phrase "they shouldn't be that big of a challenge." It has since been edited to reflect the full quote. We apologize for the error.)
ECU might be on the outside looking in for a Power Five conference spot, but its success in the state of North Carolina has been well noted. The Pirates have four straight total victories over North Carolina and NC State combined since 2010.
In order for Chubb to live up to words, he'll have to find a way to limit Anthony Scott. The junior tailback put together the best performance of his college career against Western Carolina, accounting for 210 total yards and three touchdowns.
"You really can't sleep on anybody because that can sneak up on you," Scott said. "The underdog will always find a way to win. I would never come out sleeping on anybody."
Similar to Scott, Matt Dayes was waiting on his opportunity to take on a lead role prior to last season. Finally getting his shot, he missed the final five games of last season due to a foot injury.
After posting 12 touchdowns in his first seven games prior to the injury, Dayes picked up right where he left off against William & Mary. His two touchdowns and 156 total yards against the Tribe would have been higher had he not been pulled with a commanding lead in the fourth quarter.
During his freshman season, Dayes witnessed the drubbing ECU handed State. Finally getting his shot to face ECU as a lead back, he isn't playing down the importance of Saturday's showdown. "We remember what they did to us, so we're going to try and return the favor this weekend," Dayes said.
"We don't have to explain to the team how important this game is. Everyone kind of knows. We're trying to go undefeated at home. That's the main priority now."" |
Note: I didn't read any of it, I just wanted to format it for fun.

I was at that game and it was VERY embarrassing. It was at the end of a terrible season and ECU (IRRC) was having a good season, thus the stadium was more purple than red. The people who have the seats beside ours sold them to ECU fans and my wife about killed one of them.9/7/2016 4:31:34 PM |
