I saw the video on Facebook. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if it happened every day (and probably at other universities too), this one just made the news for some reason

^ activists students named and shamed the perps

That apology was a pretty weak apology though, would make me angrier if I was in the chat.

What site is it?

Quote :
"The students involved issued an apology Wednesday afternoon. Read their statement below:

To the entire NC State Student Body:

We want to stress how sorry we are for our actions. We know what we said is very offensive and hurtful to the African-American community here on campus and we acknowledge that someone who we all considered a very close friend will probably never be able to forgive us for the hurt we have caused him. This has been a hard lesson but we have learned from it and are dedicated to making sure this doesn't happen again. We hope to someday have the chance for forgiveness from both that good friend of ours, and the rest of the student body.

We want to say one more time how sorry we are. We're sorry for our words, and we're sorry for how they hurt many people, some of whom are very close to us. The pain we've caused will take a long time to heal; it is just our hope that it will be able to at some point.

Sincerely yours,

Connor and Brennen."

Perhaps one day SJWs will learn that there is a difference between using racial slurs to insult minorities, and disagreeing with something an SJW thinks.

I guess if your objective is to call everything racist without evidence it's tough to differentiate

According to the article, "civil rights intimidation", whatever that is.

Yeah, I missed that on the first read through.

Methinks that will be thrown out. I can't imagine that law is actually constitutional if challenged, and you can be sure somebody would love to help challenge it if this schmuck ends up going to trial.

the irony here is that the cops are the ones that violated the law by arresting the dumbass

I say they probably drop it, too, and were just using it to get him the fuck outta there... But I think maybe they could make the case stick, therefore making it a legit arrest.

We likely all agree that the guy wearing the gorilla mask and IRL trolling the BLM protesters at ETSU is a total piece of shit...

HOWEVER, when I heard he got arrested, I was wondering what charge they used (to be able to lawfully remove him). After reading the quoted part of the statute, I am remembering that I think the dude had a noose, which could easily be perceived as threatening/intimidating people who are exercising their right to protest.

I couldnt really hear the audio and I only watched for a minute, but I'm guessing that's what they went with to get him out of there. If he didn't have a noose, then I'm not sure how they say his behavior rose to the level of intimidation.

Once again, not defending the silly guy who "identifies" as a gorilla (I hate that the climate is such lately that I feel like I should make that clear), just curious about enforcing the law fairly during protests and counter-protests... Cause I feel that we are gonna see more before we see less and that stuff can get tricky in practice.

They probably didnt pick it up cause it was lame and not edgy or shocking at all. Gorilla boy was pretty dumb, that's for sure, but he definitely got cameras on him.

The NCSU stuff seemed to be the type of racist stuff that people just ignore in most every youtube comment section ever... not very attention grabbing.
