so BC is 0-4 in football. was 0-8 last year. was 0-18 in basketball in the acc.

but

they've got two divisional titles since joining the league. and while it's not an apples to apples comparison since they weren't in the ACC, they have won 2 Big East basketball titles since we last won a conference title in basketball

*Correction- South Carolina hasn't either, but they did win a conference title in baseball during that time span at least.

Jagodzinski (God, Polish names are a nightmare to spell) rode the coattails of Tom O'Brien and Matt Ryan to one good season at BC. He reverted right back to the mean the following year before being fired.

If we're going to blame Doeren's first year at NC State for "the mess" O'Brien left, then it's only fair to credit him for Jagz first season at BC where they went to the ACC championship game.

BC has been steadily sinking ever since.

i think he might be right, but it gets a little fuzzy with expansion teams winning conference titles in their previous conference.

Just as far as the acc, we're the only team not to win a conference title in football or basketball - including the expansion teams winning in the old big east - since 1990.

Look at a team like Wake, they've been useless in basketball for years(since Chris Paul) and have 1 great football season. Would you really swap with them over the last 10 years and where the programs stand currently for that 1 great football season?

^^ok. i mean, i get that. i'm not arguing that we've been worse than Wake over the last decade. and i'm not trying to be all doom and gloom or anything. but being barely .500 and making a bowl isn't really "good" and being like a 8-11 seed in the tournament isn't particularly good either. i would say both of those are "mediocre" with a few good teams and a few really bad teams sprinkled in.

just for reference...our last 10 football seasons (not including this year since it isn't over): 61-64 (30-50). i mean...y'all tell me if that's "good". cause that looks not good to me. better than wake? probably - i don't really care to add up their record over that time frame. but that's quantifiably not good.

so yeah i'd trade our 61-64 for wake's 57-68 + 1 ACC title without blinking. and i think everybody else here would too.

i get that wake has been total butt in recent years and for most of their history they have been total butt as well. but if we shorten that window to the last ~10 years, and look at pretty much just the Grobe and now Clawson eras...we don't have that much room to talk. even outside of their ACC title, they still have 2 8+ win seasons not even counting that ACC title season. they also have posted 3 winning ACC records (6-2, 5-3, 5-3) in a time frame in which we've only posted 1 winning record in ACC play (5-3, 2010). so yeah...we are wake but without the hardware.

and similarly BC is shit right now, but i'd trade our 10 years for their 10 years in a heartbeat.

also...wake is not bad this year, that actually was a solid win for us. i think they're trending in the right direction with Clawson.
