Peaceful day if Clinton wins?
Trump supporters rioting?

Trump, infowars, and breitbart are going to faction off, kicking off a chain of events leading to ww3 within 15 years.

Pence, Paul Ryan, and Fox News are going to move to the center and try to redeem the GOP.

Democrats are going to continue on like nothing happens as this movement bubbles and grows under their noses, on the premise that millennials and minorities are all that's need to snuff out the alt-right.

Republicans won't be the only party splitting into factions. There will be a whole lot of angry millennials in 4 years.

regardless of either candidate - we edge closer to a 3rd party system.

Nope. A party can be replaced or it can shift in ideology, but there can't be a viable third party. It theoretically is possible with constitutional amendments and serious electoral reform, but can you actually imagine anything of that magnitude getting done with the current Congress?

If a major, well-supported politician starts talking about ending first past the post, then I'll concede that it is possible. Until then I think we'll continue to have more of the same, but worse.

^ i agree. Our system can't work with 3rd parties. Look at what having 13 GOP candidates did, the vast majority of primary voters voted against Trump, but because he got a plurality he was picked.

Now scale this up to trying to have multiple parties, and it's not hard to see how we would end up with some truly awful congresspeople if the voting were split this way.

The bracing against this is a ranked-voting system, but this would so drastically affect congress and incumbents it would take a miracle to push this through.

I would actually say the new boss (assuming Clinton wins) is worse than the old boss. I mean, even liberals should hate that this is how it's going down. Clinton is a downgrade. Sure, Obama may have been only selling the dream, but he was selling something. Clinton is an unabashed shill for corporate and international interests.

hillary would drive the value of many of my firearms up significantly, so that's cool

otherwise, i can't see how either one would change my life

neither will do anything to keep us out of foreign entanglements or institute sound financial policies

so whatever. i'm content to sit here and watch it all burn to the ground.

Trump is less of a hawk than Clinton. Clinton may very well start WW3 with Russia. For instance, her claims that she has been hacked by the Russian government is a serious allegation that lacks any evidence whatsoever. Do you think she's going to suddenly be a peacenik when she gets elected? She has a long history of supporting foreign interventions. Trump claims to be against that kind of thing - in fact, some people would call him an isolationist.

I'm not saying you should vote for Trump, but I am saying that Clinton is demonstrably worse on the issues you've mentioned. Everything Trump talks about points to a nationalist, isolationist policy, which is something that hasn't really existed in the U.S. in a long time.

I realize you probably rarely get targeted for your biology but trump is empowering a lot of sick people. If you're a woman, minority, or gay, you would feel the potentially very dire consequences of a trump presidency:
https://www.facebook.com/amsweene/posts/10208472915325745

It's easy to stop Clinton from taking guns, it's a lot harder to stop newly empowered cletuses from creating environments hostile to marginalized groups.

Also If you work with any businesses that do work in other countries you could see major disruptions to the ability to sell to foreign countries under trump.

I agree but you know whether it was warranted or not thats what people were gonna say. I now know quite a few people who were not fans of Obama who are always saying he doesn't seem so bad now compared to what we have this time and would rather have 4 more years of him than either of these two.

About 30% of the population are going to be pissed Trump lost.
About 40% of the population are going to be happy Hillary won.
About 60% of the population are going to be relieved it's not Trump.
About 60% of the population are going to be disappointed it's Hillary.

The election will not be close in popular vote or electoral votes.
The media will try to hype up the last few hours of the election tomorrow but the writing will be on the walls and their ratings won't be as high as they hope.

We'll have a bunch of news for 2-3 days after the election results are in.
The media will spend a ton of time explaining why "the first woman president" is such an important thing, as if the average viewer needs it explained to them.

The world will continue.
The country will not implode.
The country will not have a civil war.
There will be no riots because of the election.
There will be no defections to Canada because of the election.
Trump will go back to running his empire and blame the "rigged system" as the reason he lost.

If it stays at this level, he will be higher than Bush (34%), Nixon (24%), and Truman (32%). Eisenhower, LBJ,Reagan and Clinton are higher than he is currently.

Had Clinton won, there wouldn't have been any rioting. Certainly nothing like what was seen last night in many cities with protests turning violent and a story like this which is a hate crime:

I think the gun-nuts were "locked and loaded" in preparation for a Hillary win. Either way, definitely a hate crime on that video.

There's no condoning the actions in that video, however you're a fool if you don't think we'd have seen similar if the shoe was on the other foot.

^^I don't know. I mean, if we generalize and make it about race...white folks are good for rioting after sporting events, and they got a long
history of racially motivated mob violence. But I think black folks have won out the past few years for riots and mob violence.

Of course, I realize the video should be taken as an isolated incident, and I'm comfortable viewing it that way...but there are a lot of [white] people
who are beginning to observe what they think is a "trend." It's one of many things they don't like, and I think they quietly let us know how they feel on Tuesday.

This is kind of silly. Sure, there has been plenty of rioting by the black community over the past couple years, but it's been related to a totally different issue than this election (thought the black community definitely had a high stake in it). Flip the coin, and there's plenty of documented/filmed instances of mob mentality and violence at Trump rallies (The JCE's of the world would, of course, blame that [i]all[/] on DNC plants, but that's absurd).
