How many more times do I have to hear his dumb Hallelujah song this week?

I've only heard it when I've chosen to click play on videos posted online. Is someone forcing you to listen to it against your will somewhere?

That's unfortunate. The best way to describe his music is like Bob Dylan with more spirit and soul.

News segments on television. Musical tributes on late night shows. Etc.

I'm not crapping on his overall collection of work. I just find that droning song irritating for some reason.

Yeah, it's overused, especially in movie and TV soundtrack (but it's usually someone else singing it).

The reason why I love listening to Cohen sing it over all of the covers is the buildup to a very brief moment of silence he always did during the penultimate chorus. Gives me shivers (the good kind) every time. It might be in other versions but I've never noticed it the same way.
