An NC State grad friend of mine moved to Texas a few years ago. I've noticed that ever since he has moved his ideologies have changed. He is Indian like me, took the same classes in grad school and we graduated together. The change in his thinking is pretty stark. I recently got into this debate with him. He thinks that this country is not racist, Trump becoming president is no big deal, and that the liberals are a bunch a whiny ass pussies. I sort of agree with the last bit but I still think that a lot of progress still has to be made in this country when it comes to race relations.

I'm a little suspicious of these Prager Univ. videos.

My arguments are around the facts that police brutality is rampant, black receive higher sentences for the same crime compared to their white counter parts, and that employers typically prefer hiring white males.

He shot down my police brutality argument with the video. I'm waiting to hear back on the other two.

Systemic racism not individual racist cops.

You and your friend need to look deeper into why there is so much violence in places like Chicago and why these areas are predominantly black. Then you will start to find the systemic racism.

Holy shit, I've just started seeing this PragerU bullshit pop up among conservatives on Facebook. Like this is literally the first week I've seen it, and every video I've seen at a minimum is misleading or disingenuous and these people are eating it the fuck up.

The problem I have with Trump-voters is the double standard. For example, if you interviewed for a job, and posted yourself on Facebook with videos about vile things, racism, and misogyny you would not be hired by the potential employer. Yet, these people elected a President with the EXACT same discrepancies. I know there are other things that make this whole thing crazy, but this bothers me to a degree.

what you are leaving out of your nice little analogy there is that there was only one other applicant for that same job: an internal candidate with a lot of warts, one who had broken plenty of company regulations, and was involved in a number of corporate scandals.
