If you haven't seen the movie yet (and it's out in theaters) or not caught up on the show?

I haven't finished westworld yet so I'm not going in there until I watch the last 2 episodes

But that's for tv, if it's a movie I would expect to be warned of spoilers for at least a couple of days so I can ask if it's any good.

After a new episode airs I won't look until I'm caught up. If it's a show I haven't started yet then I won't even open, if I don't want spoilers.

For movies I'll look up until it comes out and then I won't look until I've seen it. Though some movies, especially those based on books, can't really be spoiled for me (IMO) so I'm less careful.

Hey look - I'm ok with spoilers - I take that risk. I check those threads out to see what people think about the movie I'm planning on seeing.

But posting a GIF of probably one of the best parts of the movie? That's going a little far.

you kind of just described movie trailers. I am not one of those people that gets bent out of shape over spoilers though, so I probably don't understand

i pay close attention to the date of the posts i'm reading within those threads if i'm not caught up on a tv show. for a show like westworld, for example, i started watching pretty late but am interested in hearing others' discussion of it. so i know what episode i'm on and about what date that originally aired. so i'll know not to read past a certain point in that thread. and if i do by mistake, then oh well. i'm not super upset by spoilers when it's a tad dated. like, if somebody "spoils" a movie i haven't seen that's been out for a year+ then i can't really be too mad about it imo
