Great first race! Maybe 2017 won't be a one horse season?

The new cars look great IMO. Maybe more difficult to pass in general, but not more difficult to pass the McLarens. Holy shit how much does Honda suck?

I feel like Ferrari shot themselves in the foot in that race. That or Bottas deserves honorable mention for blocking Vettel for a few laps (in a perfectly legit manner).

Or was their chassis just not as competitive on the Medium tires?

Kimi didn't have the pace to make the strategy work. Seb's laps to pull the gap were impressive as hell and won him the race.

About time that McLaren gave Honda the boot!

Also, a little surprising that Renault gave Red Bull the boot as well, lol.

I'm happy with the switch to Renault power, but I have a feeling Honda will definitely make huge progress in 2018 and STR will not regret their decision...

Wow, Ferrari's luck recently has been shit.

(Though I would say the incident 2 races ago was almost entirely, or entirely, Vettel's fault lol).

Looking down the road, I'm not sure I like the proposed engine changes.

How about those shitheads just go back to higher cylinder counts and higher redlines.

the fuel flow limit is what's keeping revs down, plus the nature of turbos giving excellent lower rpm torque. They'd have to ditch the fuel flow limit to get the revs up, and I'd like to see them allow restricted flow refueling to let them make more power (and stop the silly oil burn q mode stuff) and open up some strategy options.

It'd be interesting to see the actual gear ratio changes from the v10, unrestricted v8, restricted v8, and now the turbo era. We have more gears now, and I believe the ratios are locked in for the season (one change allowed?), and they have to allow for a 230+mph top speed (mexico) as well as the low speed tracks like Monaco, and only rev to ~13k instead of 21k.

yeah I'm aware of the reason nobody revs past 12k. I believe the rules allow for 15k, but it's impossible with those fuel flow restrictions so immaterial really.
