At first I thought they were just going to have Dan around as in like characters imaging him there and talking to him when they needed advice or something.

After previews and such, I think they're honestly going to pretend that last season just didn't happen.

Yeah, that's gonna be a no for me dawg.

They original Roseanne was highly entertaining and quite groundbreaking. This will not be good. DAN IS DEAD YOU CAN'T JUST BRING HIM BACK.

Although I guess they really just have to ignore the finale to make this work.

^^They bring back David and Darlene and we find out that they've gone into witness protection. We don't know what happened to force them there, only that they now live in California and are currently living the lives of scientists working at a prestigious University under the aliases Lennard Hofstadter and Leslie Winkle.

The season will help untangle the mystery as to how they ended up in Witness Protection and why their love drifted apart when an actress/waitress neighbor came into the picture.

I actually enjoyed the show and liked that it touched on more of the middle-class American vibe than most other shows.

But good for ABC for not hesitating on pulling the plug. Just annoying that celebrities can't avoid Social Media.

If you think Roseanne is the only racist, simple-minded, bigoted asshole in Hollywood, you're kidding yourself.

The show was good, large in part because of a good cast and writing team. Sucks Roseanne was known to be crazy for years but her social media made it too hard for people to ignore/deny.

I, personally, hope that all racists are loud as hell about it on social media so we can know who they are

I feel sorry for John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laura Metcalf and the rest of the cast.

They were well aware of what they were dealing with when they agreed to take roles in the reboot. I don't feel too bad for them.

They should have kept the show running and written her off.

Say she died during the offseason. She was crushed while trying to prevent a confederate statue from being pulled down.

ABC is already in discussions about continuing the show without her.

That sounds dumb.

This whole event was bizarre to me. From reports of the first couple of episodes where she came out as pro-Trump, to this tweet. I was honestly surprised when she came out pro-Trump. I thought she hated the guy. I guess I just wasn't up on all of my celebrity political stances. I thought for sure she was about as anti-conservative as you could get.

Shows you what I know.

I think you are confusing Rosie O'Donnell and Roseanne Barr.

^^^^No sources to site, but there are dozens of reputable sites posting "musings" of it and various celebrities are calling for it on social media(hell a couple have offered to help write for a new show).

I don't think a Roseanne show will work without Roseanne, but I do think Goodman and Metcalf are going to come out of this with AMPLE opportunities to work in TV. Though I would gladly watch a show where Roseanne is dead and we focus on the rest of the family coping/moving on.

Roseanne was pro Trump not pro Republican/Conservatism. She has always been controversial on Twitter posting several anti-Semitic pics.

I always liked the show the original and the reboot. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are not really hurting for money, but I feel for the rest of the cast and crew that got caught up in this mess.

I skimmed some article saying cast still gets paid for season 1 (and maybe the 2nd planned one)...probably not the crew though.

Quote :
"It’s not as if everyone scattered after Tuesday’s cancellation announcement. After ABC ordered a second season of Roseanne in March, EW confirmed that cast options were picked up for another 13 episodes. Carsey-Werner, which produces the sitcom for ABC, is still on the hook for paying those salaries. And since ABC ordered a new season, it bears its own financial brunt from the cancellation. So keeping some kind of show intact wouldn’t be the worst decision for ABC."

I read that only gilbert, goodman and metcalf were the only ones that had guarantee clauses in their contracts...

^Would make sense, thought I expected Emma Kenney might have some guarantees in her contract... assuming she was planned for Season 2 despite her rehab issues.
