lol wtf. I bought a Santa Fe Sport this afternoon. I had been bouncing around between the Santa Fe, Tucson, Toyota Rav4, Highlander and Audi Q5. 9/7/2018 9:56:43 PM |

That said, feel free to criticize my decision. I do love buyer's remorse.
To clarify, I got a 2018 Santa Fe Sport with the 2.0L Turbo. I think I got a good deal on a year end model but hey I only buy new cars every 5 years so I could have missed something. MSRP is 33k I got it for 26.5. I would have gone for the Ultimate edition with the panoramic sunroof, premium speakers and all the extra safety whatnots, but the only one I could find in the colors I liked was in Spartanburg SC and didn't want to make that drive.

Highlander wasn't worth the extra $?
[Edited on September 9, 2018 at 12:23 PM. Reason : and Q5 more so? If you are planning on keeping this for a long time, good job avoiding the Audi] 9/9/2018 12:22:26 PM |

eh, it wasn't about the money. honestly I just didn't like the styling of the highlander or the rav4 as much. and Toyota doesn't do Android Auto. plus all 4 cars I've ever bought have been Toyotas and figured it was time to try something else. I've been admiring the improved Hyundai designs for a few years now. 9/9/2018 2:55:06 PM |

My dad bought one of the 1.6 turbo kia's after trading in his v6 mustang.
I can kinda understand why he did it, as the mustang isn't really practical.
I'll say this, I don't think any of the cars in the segment are inspiring. They are great at being cars, but nothing more, they are the vanilla milkshake of vehicles. I own a CRV, it's an amazing car, but I don't feel anything for it, and I don't have any compulsion for something newer. 9/9/2018 10:22:17 PM |

the other thing about this is I just moved from NJ/NYC so I was using public transportation or Lyft most of the time. in the last 6 years I drive maybe twice a week. I live in Cary now but I WFH so I'm still not gonna be driving much at all. Didn't make sense to spend more on a car I'm barely gonna have a chance to enjoy anyways.
the Q5 would have been "nicer" for similar money, but I've always been a "get a nice sensible car, who you trying to impress anyways" kinda guy. hard to break out of that mindset.

Same here. I *want* to buy a new car, but can't justify the expense given how little I drive.9/10/2018 11:14:12 AM |

Lambo Urus or GTFO.
I have been told that's what all the rich people have moved to these days.

I've got a shopping question.
I've got my camry up for sale and am looking to get something a little newer and less miles.
Between the Honda, Toyota and Nissan 4 door car selections which should I go with? something 2006 and newer or so.
Budget around $2500
Need fuel efficiency/longevity as well as comfort...

JT3bucky how many miles does your car have now? you're probably looking at 150k mile cars in that price range, is that less miles?

What's the age and mileage of your current Camry? Does it have any problems? Because depending on your answers it makes no sense for you to switch to a newer car (in that price range). Anything for $2500 that's only 10-12 years old will probably be beat to crap and/or have very high mileage.9/13/2018 9:57:38 AM |

We ended up test driving most of the cars in that segment and ended up with a 2018 Tiguan.
They had all of the features that we were looking for and the 6yr/72k bumper to bumper was a pretty sweet deal. 10/1/2018 9:27:12 AM |
