Depends on the airline. Southwest and American (almost completely unnecessarily) cancelled all/most of their flights on the Thursday and Friday before Florence. I'm pretty sure Delta didn't cancel a single flight, at most they might have cancelled a random regional flight here or there over that four day period. They were a helluva a lot smarter than the other airlines. If the winds line up with the runways, it's really unlikely they cancel flights. Even if they don't, it'd have to be over the crosswinds limit before they start worrying about it. (of course there's other factors but my best guess is that this is the biggest factor, rain doesn't really matter)
The short answer is, if they don't put a waiver out for it, you'll be fine. I'm flying in Thursday afternoon and don't think there'll be any issues.

This forecast does have some crosswinds but as long as they don't go above what's forecasted here I'd think it'd be ok. I'm not a pilot tho, just my best amateur guess. 10/9/2018 11:40:59 PM

Delta scrubbed their Paris flight for one day I believe. That was the only big route that Delta cancelled and it was for just one day. 10/10/2018 8:15:31 PM
