Hopefully this is a reflection of peeps in downtown Raleigh wanting more independent/unique/hipster/pick-your-adjective dining and not a sign that downtown Raleigh is struggling somehow. Raleigh actually has a half decent food scene...don't really need these tourist trap type spots anyway.

Overpriced food, knew it wouldn't last. If you can't take advantage during lunch hours in that particular area and be full, there's no way you can make it.

It's a favorite tactic of franchises and corporate structures to absolve themselves of responsibility.

"I know the restaurant sells our products exclusively, under our name, with our branding and livery, following our processes, all under our direction and supervision. But it's not really our restaurant, and we have absolutely nothing to do with any negative experiences there."

They're happy to take the money and credit for positive experiences though.
