This is probably a pretty hackneyed response, but did my part to bring 2 beautiful people into this world. Even if Trump trashes it for them. 1/2/2019 12:42:49 PM |

when i was in 9th grade a teacher asked me to tutor a senior in geometry. he needed to pass the class to graduate. it just wasn't clicking for him and he was failing the class at midterm. he worked really hard and we spent countless hours working problems together. the material was pretty easy, but the hard part was figuring out how he learned. he passed with a B-. end of the year i got called out of class to the front office. his mom came to thank me and gave me a gift card and hugged me with tears in her eyes. i was very proud of him.
word spread among the teachers and almost every semester they'd have someone whose parents wanted them to get some extra help and they'd ask me to tutor. i'd always do it, but no one was ever willing to put in the work like that dude. i can definitely see why some teachers put up with the low pay and shitty kids to get maybe a handful of kids like that during their career. it's about the only time i can say i for sure had a direct and positive influence on someone else's life.

Have done: I guess is buying a condo and then later a house, car, etc. and gaining financial independence and (relative) security. I'm proud of that.
Will do: I'm down to just my dissertation, so if I can earn my PhD, I'd say that will neatly tie up nearly 20 years of education. I was a shitty student in high school and education helped me turn my life around during/after college, so it'll be testament perseverance and not giving up on a goal if nothing else. 1/3/2019 10:16:00 AM |

I once had Illian Evtimov shield me from people throwing bottles off of a balcony and tell me it was unsafe to go any further
