Well I'm not the judge I suppose but it believe, at minimum, it's a non preferred term, and kick certainly intended it as a slur. Otherwise he would have just said drag queen like OP.

Wow, guys. Drag performers can be cisgender or transgender, agender, non-binary, and they can identify as hetero, homo, bi, pan, or asexual, although most tend to be cisgender, gay males. Drag is a performance style that includes lots of makeup and glitter and outrageous costumes.
