It always blows my mind that you can be 76 years old and every president other than Obama has been older. If you're 60, every president has been older.

Reading it again, I think you maybe referring to the president's age now (as in Washington is 290 years old). I don't think that's a particularly meaningful way to view it, however.

A person who is currently 60 years old has never experienced a younger president. A 76-year-old has only experienced Obama as a younger president.

Mostly I see it as a reflection of our inability to move past boomers as political leaders.

I mean, 3 years into Washington's presidency, you could have said the same thing: No one under 60 is older than the president. The median age of all presidents at inauguration as 55; I expect that for the entirety of American history the trend has been that those 60 and under are younger than ALL presidents if you count their current age at the time--I mean, right now, most of them passed the age of 60 one or two centuries ago.

You're basically saying, "Considering all presidents in American history, none of them would be less than 60 IF THEY WERE ALIVE TODAY". Well, yeah....no shit; most of them were president more than 60 years ago to begin with. I mean, just 6 years ago we had a president that was under 60--of course, he's no longer under 60 now because like 6 more years have passed.

Three of the past five presidents were under 60 at inauguration. Saying "If you're 60, every president has been older" completely ignores the fact that more than 30 of them were younger than 60 at the time they became president. Who cares how "old" they are now, decades or centuries after they've died.

Sorry, that ended up being lengthier than I anticipated. I was just trying to come up with a way to articulate that their age THEN is more important than their age NOW.

Trump will not allow DeSantis to win. They'll go at each other in the primary to the point to where Trump will still be Trump, and DeSantis won't be running.
